I have been involved in cycling since I was about 13 years old. I
rode centuries and club rides off and on through high school and worked
at several pro shops. I drifted away from cycling for several
years and immersed myself in the world of race cars working on SCCA
formula and sports racers. It was here that I learned many
of my fabrication skills. I was still riding my bike to and
from work and decided to enter a few club races.
I won
my first race and took out a USCF license for the 1981 season.
I turned pro in 1986 for the Schwinn Icy-Hot team and raced with the
Coors Light team from 1989-1995. I raced to multiple State
and National Championships on the road, track and even cyclocross.
I represented the United States at the World championships in the
5OOO meter professional pursuit, finishing sixth in 1986 and
fourth in 1989. I also briefly raced mountain bikes as a professional,
pulling off a few top twenty finishes in world class competition shortly
before I retired. My diverse cycling experience also includes setting
the current world speed record in a human powered vehicle at 68.73
mph.
Since
I am well versed in all forms of cycling I have a unique advantage
when it comes to designing and building the ultimate custom frame
for your body and your riding goal. My experience as a rider
and my knowledge of materials and frame design will help you arrive
at the finish line first or give you an unfair advantage leading your
buddies down a screaming
descent!
